| Mystery abounds this cursed estate which rests on a lonely hill just outside
Korpel. The Lord of this manor was not native to this land, and his errand
here was secret. Baron Scotte De Loncrea was a young man, recently married and
had no children. His estate was built quickly, with the help of the local black
dwarves. Why the lord chose black dwarves to assist his creation is beyond
imagination, for black dwarves are known for their blacksmith skills, not
building.
Apparently De Loncrea expressed his love for his wife through his building skills. The manor was exquisite , nothing in the land compared with the expert architectural design and quality of materials. It was unfortunate his wife did not live long after the manors completion. How she died is not known. And whatever happened to Baron De Loncrea is also a mystery. Some say they hear whistling coming from the estate. And others say they have seen black dwarves roaming the gardens carrying tools here and there. Some even say they see the ghost of his wife sitting in her favorite spot in the garden feeding the birds as she did when she was alive. Supposedly she had a magic vial of everlasting water that she would set out for the birds on hot days. The locals must believe in these fables for no one goes near the estate and no one would dream of living there. Surely, someone with a level head could unlock its secrets and disprove all the silly tales. Or are the stories true? |
