| Every few months, new stories trickle into Talorien about a forest of tall trees and the unusually large and hardy animals that live in it. Hunters go there once in a while in search of prey, and occasionally do not come out. Those that do return tell tales of frequent fires and strange sounds. They also tell of a large spire of blue crystal that juts out of the earth in the center of the forest, towering over the tops of the trees. Whispered rumors state that this spire is a source of great magical power... And perhaps also the source of a great curse. Only the very strong explorers come back from journeys to the spire... And of those that do return, none speak of what is inside. |
