devout inhabitants of this village worship the forest God, Caythilus.

Centuries ago however, a child was born into the village who was soon after

named Elrate. She was taken into a small hut by a hermit that dwelled in the

lower caves, and taught unspeekable knowledge of the arcane. Throughout many

years the hermit trained Elrate in the evil ways of chaos, planning to

overthrow the hold Caythilus had on the people.

Not long ago, Elrate was dwelling in her newly built chambers, when she cooked

up a wicked plan, gathering together her small army of followers, she cast a

spell upon the villagers of Amada. Caythilus, no longer receiving power from

prayer and faith, gradually began to lose his devine state.

Though many tried to stop her, Elrate finally crushed the resistance forces,

thus making Caythilus a lowly human in power. Seizing control of the village,

Elrate imprisoned Caythilus and hid his key in a secret chamber next to the

worship house. The villagers, still under the wicked spell taunted the God and

cast him as nothing more than a slave.

Only very few stand by Caythilus these days in the village of Amada, hoping

that a prophecised adventurer will eventually end Elrates reign of terror and

hardship.
