ound throughout the Empire are groups of like minded individuals known as cabals. Each cabal serves a different purpose, and pursues different goals. Many of these are centered around worship of a Mythological god or goddess, which they believe brings them power, while others plot the downfall of the Empire or opposing cabals.

The organization of individual cabals varies greatly, some are militaristic, some more like a monastical order, while others resemble a family unit. These cabals are each very powerful in their own right. The leaders of them are some of the most powerful and influential figures in the Empire, and you should think carefully before thwarting them. Many of the cabals engage in activities not sanctioned by the Emperor and that are downright illegal, these foul acts are done behind closed doors, deep down in the sewers or in a shadowy alley.

Few know the members of the different cabals or their true purpose, and such knowledge may easily get your throat slit from ear to ear.

You may be priviledged to join a cabal, but most of them are invite only and each will have different requirements for applicants. Your breed and alignment can very likely narrow your opportunity of which cabals you may enter. Cabals are not easily left or entered, so plan well before you make up your mind on which cabal to join.
