In a deep mountain valley lies the dwarven village of Anvil, renowned throughout the Empire of Blackfire. As much as for their fine liquor, the dwarves are famous for the quality of the gems and metals which they mine, and the unparalleled craftsmanship of their runesmiths and other metalworkers.
The dwarven mines are hidden, their location jealously guarded, for the courage and skill of the dwarven folk is rivalled only by their possessiveness of the wealth and treasures they see as their own. Adventurers who invade this domain, virtually sacred to these strong and doughty folk, should be prepared for trouble. None can know what the depths of the earth may hold.
Like many communities, Anvil is a land of many legends, dominated by the exploits of the Lost Brothers, Dorgrim and Thorgrim, ancient heroes of lore. Their power and abilities are told of in chants and ballads, and their disappearance is a cause of great mourning shared by all dwarves.
