ince Blackfire is a role-playing game based around the medieval ages, we require that each player chooses a decent name that fits the environment. This is to prevent people from choosing names like postman pat which ruins the role-playing mood of the game. Below is a brief explenation of the naming rules on Blackfire.

You can't use a well known name, modern, historical, or literary.
Examples: Merlin, Stalin, Dhalilama, Schwarzenegger.

You can't pick a name that is a normal word.
Examples: Thunder, Assassin, Porsche, Pliers.

You can't take normal words and combine them.
Examples: ThunderAssassin, PorschePliers.

You can't use a minor misspelling on anything that breaks one of the above rules.
Examples: Dollylama, Merlen, Asassin.

Most normal modern names are no good.
Examples: Bob, Frank, Mary. Some more exotic names might be allowed, but that is up to the gods online.

You also can't use a name that is used by any of the creatures of the game.

Approval

Each player will have to get his/her name approved by level 15, if a god tells you your name is inappropriate and you will have to change it, dont argue - think of a new one and tell the god your whish.

Players found with very inappropriate names will be made to change them.

Naming tips

Look and see how other characters are named.

Take the current name you are using and turn it into a medieval type name. (Example: "Lucie" or "Lucy" would not be approved, but "Lucillia" may be. "Frank" or "Steve" wouldn't be approved, but "Frankar" or "Stiev" may be.)

If you have any doubt, you may ask a god, but please do not ask the god until you are pretty sure it will be approved.
